Game-Changer: How Modern Tech is Delivering Immersive Fan Experiences

Axis Communications Season 1 Episode 6

For sports fans, there’s nothing like being at the stadium and experiencing the roar of the crowd. On the other hand, it’s hard to beat your favorite armchair, a big-screen TV, great commentary and a well-stocked fridge. But what if you could have the best of both worlds, and more?

In this episode of Connect, we are fortunate to host Dr. Lou Marciani, Director and Co-Founder of the Innovation Institute for Fan Experience (IIFX), to discuss how cutting-edge technology is changing the game for stadiums and creating new, immersive experiences for sports fans and concertgoers alike. Dr. Lou shares a wealth of experience spanning his time as director of the National Center for Sports Safety and Security (NCS4), working with professional sports and the NCAA, and serving on the US Olympic Committee.

We’ll discuss the power that today’s fans possess and how stadiums are tapping into technology to customize and personalize the fan experience. We’ll examine the “fan journey” and some of the 196 touchpoints for stadiums and franchises to engage with fans along the way. We’ll also take a look at the latest and greatest tech-driven amenities as well as the role emerging tech— like AI and augmented reality—will play in the future. Tune in to find out what’s in store for the stadiums, their fandoms and our society as a whole.
